TRUTH FOR TODAY

THE RESURRECTION – AN EVERY SUNDAY CELEBRATION
According to the Scriptures, such as Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 11:20-29, and others, as well as church historians, the early church partook of the Lord’s Supper each Sunday to remember the Lord’s death ‘til He comes again. Jesus said when He instituted the Lord’s Supper that the disciples were to eat the bread and drink the cup “in remembrance of me” (Luke 22:19). Accordingly, it was the practice of early Christians to assemble on the Lord’s Day – Sunday – and partake of this sacred feast. The celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead should not be a once-a-year thing, but an every Sunday thing by partaking of the Lord’s Supper.
